JETAA at the Embassy of Japan in Canberra with the Ambassador of Japan Kazuhiro Suzuki for Oceania 2026

This year, the Canberra Chapter in Australia, led by their president Rafael, hosted Oceania. The conference began with a dinner party at the Embassy of Japan, organised by Ambassador Kazuhiro Suzuki. The Embassy team warmly welcomed us with exquisite Japanese dishes prepared by Mr. Suzuki's private chef.

We concluded our evening in high spirits, eager for the conference to begin the following day. The next morning, delegates were offered two options: a hike to view Canberra from a mountain summit or breakfast at On Londale Cafe.

At the conference, the Canberra team and Clair Sydney welcomed us to foster discussions aimed at enhancing and exchanging ideas on the value proposition of JET for 2025 and beyond.

We also had Grant Barton, our Keynote speaker, who shared his insights on JET and his perspective on ESID as a mindset. He emphasized that it should not be seen as a comprehensive solution that leads to frustration and stress, but rather as an opportunity to listen and adapt instead of merely reacting.

The following day, we attended presentations from CLAIR Sydney and Chrystal, the delegate from Singapore, who discussed Singapore's efforts and events over the past year.

Rafael and CLAIR Sydney delivered the closing remarks to conclude the Oceania 2025 conference and passed the baton to next year's hosts, JETAA Auckland.
