July Event | Paskatsu Eat Out

This month’s event took place on a typical wet and windy wintry evening in Auckland CBD, in a little fusion restaurant called Paskatsu, tucked away on Lorne Street.

We rallied some alumni members together to have a hot meal on this miserable evening and nibbled, nommed, sipped (and sculled) the night away. From the selection on offer, we tried the classic Tonkatsu, the Hell Tonkatsu, the Ro-su, Hee-re, and Ebi Premium Tonkatsus, and of course the main star, the Mega Paskatsu which combines their classic Tonkatsu with a pasta of your choice, which in this case was a bacon cream fettuccine. Members that evening can attest that the Hell Tonkatsu is in fact spicy! Though certain members will attest that it was still a comfortable level of spice to enjoy, and not quite recalled-from-Denmark level spicy 🥵

With nine members in attendance this evening, it was very lively to the point where the shift manager had to gently remind us that we needed to bring our volume down just a smidge, so as to not greatly disturb the other diners in the establishment (apologies to the public)! Why don’t you hazard a guess at which of us were the most exuberant at the table that evening?

Featuring our special guest, Brad, president of the JETAA Wellington chapter! We were so chuffed that he had some time during his short weekend trip up in Auckland to join us for the evening! It was great to catch you up here and we can’t wait to drag you out again next time!

We finished the evening off at Miann Britomart for dessert, but given how popular the spot is on a wintry evening, our seats weren’t quite photo-worthy enough for this post… It certainly was fun surprising people as they exited the elevator though!

Our next JETAA Auckland event will be on Saturday 10th August, from 7pm at Ace Karaoke bar in Auckland CBD! Entry is $35 which includes 3 hours of singing time, a hot main meal and a drink! Make sure you RSVP on our Facebook event on the group page by 31st July to secure your spot!
